We are looking for a loving person to help provide care at home (Shoreham, NY) for our seven-year-old daughter. Michelle does not yet walk or talk but loves to explore by crawling and climbing. She generally has a good disposition and enjoys interacting with others.
The personal assistant will watch over Michelle, feed and change her and provide this interaction. Some of the activities include helping her to walk in her gait trainer, taking her for walks in her wheelchair and helping her to ride her tricycle. The assistant will also aid the therapists that come to work with Michelle. We are sometimes at home but will often be away from the house.
Michelle goes to school full time and assistants may also put her on or take her off the school bus. We are looking for help to cover most of the time when she is awake at home. Those periods include
|Monday-Friday||3:15-7:15 PM (sometimes 8:15)|
There is some flexibility in these times. We would like to employ two or more people covering the shifts that best fit their schedules. During school breaks, we can use additional help during the day.
The positions are CDPAP administered by Community Care and the current salary is $15.22 per hour. Assistants must be at least 18 years old.
